I qualified from the Birmingham Medical School in 1974 having first graduated in Chemistry from the University of Wales. I remained in hospital medicine, being interested in Pharmacology and Blood Disorders, until 1979, when I joined the Partners at Northgate. With the encouragement of the then Senior Partner, Dr Boyd Stirling, I introduced undergraduate and graduate medical training.

I was active in introducing computerization of the Practice in 1990 and was the driving force behind the relocation to the new premises of Anchor Meadow as well as creating the post of Practice Pharmacists. I am actively involved in medical education and am involved in the development of “medicine management”.
