Asthma
Asthma is a very common chronic condition affecting three million
people in the UK today. The severity of asthma varies considerably, both
in children and adults. Many have mild asthma with only occasional
problems, whilst others sometimes require hospital admission to control
severe attacks.
The majority of people can reasonably expect to lead normal and active
lives. Asthma cannot be cured, but you can realistically expect to be free
of symptoms and able to enjoy and participate in activities like everyone
else.
We encourage everyone with asthma to attend once a year to make sure they
are on the best treatment and using it properly. If you are asthmatic and
haven’t been to our asthma clinic please make an appointment at Reception.
Please don't wait until your Asthma is bad before coming to the clinic, we
are there to help you prevent problems as well as sorting them out.
